  • Previously a Clinical Dietitian at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Cornell Weill Medical Center, Boston City Hospital Boston, MA, Mercy Hospital in Orlando, FL. and the former Missouri State Chest Hospital 
  • Served as director of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrition Support and Diabetes at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri for several years prior to her entrance into academia at Missouri State University 
  • Held office in the Missouri Dietetic Association including President-Elect and served as Chairman of the American Dietetic Association Political Action Committee Board of Directors 
  • Held numerous positions for the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) including, Director at Large and Chairperson of the Dietitians’ Committee and an elected member of the Board of
    Directors 
  • Served on the editorial boards for Clinics in Applied Nutrition and Nutrition in Clinical Practice, as a reviewer for the Journal Chest and has done several presentations on the local, state and national level
    - Publications have centered around nutrition in COPD, the role of the dietitian in nutrition support, ethical issues in nutrition support and nutrition management of patients with neoplastic disease of the head and neck
