Research and professional interests

Her interests include the Criminal Justice system and specifically, the investigation and prosecution of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence cases and the Child Welfare System.  Before joining the faculty of the Criminology Department at MSU, Ms. Patterson was a Public Defender in the Missouri Public Defender's Office, a Greene County Assistant Prosecutor and Chief Legal Counsel for the Greene County Sheriff's Office since 2011.
