Research and professional interests

My research interests include wetland plant ecology, wetland biogeochemistry, phytoremediation, and metals and metal nanoparticles in aquatic systems. I am also interested in science education research, in particular, teaching and learning quantitative biology, attitudes to quantitative concepts in biology, and learning behaviors in online classes.

Current projects focus on plant communities in wetlands impacted by land use, effects of nanoparticles on aquatic plants, distribution of metals in gravel bar vegetation, aquatic plant management, and student quantitative skills in biology.
