Research and professional interests

Dr. Suttmoeller’s research and professional interests involve natural resources law enforcement including conservation officer behavior, decision making and roles within the larger law enforcement community. Additionally, he is interested in homeland security and terrorism, along with the role of terrorist and organized crime groups in the illegal trade of natural resources. Dr. Suttmoeller coordinates the Conservation Law Enforcement Undergraduate Certificate and has a decade’s worth of experience in natural resources law enforcement.
