Research and professional interests

My lab is dedicated to understanding the unique cell surface of mycobacteria, characterized by a distinctive cell wall rich in mycolic acids, contributing to their exceptional resilience and impermeability. The research focuses on the intricate mechanisms behind this cell surface synthesis, employing advanced techniques such as florescent microscopy, lipid extraction, and biochemical and click chemical analysis.
